Freezing hard drive: myth busted
Freezing the hard drive to recover from a disk failure did not work for me. Despite the headline, I still think it might work for drives that suffered a failure due to usage wear and tear and not the kind of failure due to crappy make that apparently is widespread. After looking at the iomega forum and talking to a HD recovery salesman, my problem is quite common. Note to self, never buy drives...
